First Impression (A Danish Info Kiosk Company) Takes New York, USA

Public Internet eXchange ("PIX") has developed a unique kiosk application, which gives the public a vehicle to access a wide range of free services over the Internet. The application is now in place in 50 First Impression Internet kiosks, the FI-301, located in Manhattan.

Free services on these FI-301s include, without limitation, international phone calls based on VOIP technology, view movie trailers and reviews with location and show times, and the ability to search restaurants from a database of over 8,000 based on food type, price range, and location.  Each Info Kiosk knows exactly where it is placed based on latitude and longitude coordinates, therefore all you have to click is the "Close to Here" button to find the nearest restaurant based on your preferences.

With a few touches you can get detailed information about a certain restaurant, including sample menu, review, address, phone number, and pictures.  With the handset that is in place on these kiosks, you can even dial directly from the kiosk to make a reservation, all for free!  This application has been duplicated for the thousands of shops in Manhattan and New York Nightlife.

"Our plan is to deploy the First Impression Info Kiosks in the top U.S. markets, then enter the global market.  The reason why we chose the First Impression Info Kiosk is the combination of its truly elegant design, which fits into every environment we are targeting, and durability, which is key to this type of equipment in public places," says Nicholas Jarecki, CEO and Founder of PIX.
