Remote CCTV Monitoring capability on a PDA
In response to the requirement for the instantaneous communication of security alarms to staff that are mobile, Wavelet Technology has introduced the Wave Ranger.
Wave Ranger is a hand-held PDA application that provides security personnel with the ability to view both live or recorded camera images from any Wavestore installation, located anywhere in the world.
Wave Ranger delivers many of the key control features of the company’s Wavestore Digital Video Recorder, with the benefit of the freedom and flexibility that is essential for people on the move.
Utilising mobile wireless connectivity, the design provides constant camera monitoring and immediate Alert and Alarm notification; enabling the user to view the associated cameras displayed, and make an instantaneous response.
An interactive map capability will enable users to select cameras at strategic locations and “follow” an event as it moves across the monitored environment.
The control and management of a wide range of PTZ cameras is also available from the unit. These responsive capabilities enable the user to track an event by selecting and controlling the PTZ or domes cameras.
Images of recorded events, which are stored on the main DVR, can also be stored and displayed on the PDA for identification purposes.
Wave Ranger is ideal for security staff, responsible for the monitoring of large office complexes, warehouses, airports, ports, shopping centres or university campuses, since they are constantly away from the control room computers, and cannot view images over a standard Web.
