Non-lethal anti-terror systems
This article shows Non-lethal anti-terror systems such as High Power MicroWaves systems and Smoke Units.
High Power Microwaves
High Power Microwaves (HPM) are electromagnetic sources to jam or destroy electronic equipment. As non-lethal effectors, HPM sources are harmless for humans. The use of HPM systems is a new kind of capability enabling the user to eliminate command and information facilities, control centers and monitoring facilities. Furthermore, such systems can also be utilized for the protection of persons and convoys. Above all, self-built fuses, e.g. booby traps, can be electronically disabled and destroyed. Systems which are effective over larger ranges can be used for object protection to defend against approaching threatening objects controlled or guided by electronic systems. Diehl BGT Defence and Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH have been cooperating in the field of HPM weapon systems since 2002. The main contractor is Diehl BGT Defence.

Smoke screening
For the protection of soldiers and vehicles, Diehl BGT Defence offers various smoke devices such as the Floating Smoke Pot and the 76mm smoke grenade.
The Floating Smoke Pot contains a smoke charge which is effective for up to 20 minutes after its ignition. It is used particularly for amphibious operations, at sea or in lakes and rivers. Land assault forces such as paratroopers, but also special forces, marines, etc. are effectively protected by the ejected smoke in the visual and IR ranges. The pot can be used in all weather conditions, by day and night and is harmless for human beings and the environment.
The 76mm smoke grenades offered by Diehl BGT Defence are pyrotechnical means for the protection of vehicles and armored platforms equipped with an appropriate launcher. The smoke grenades enable rapid cover in the vicinity of the vehicle. The newly developed multi-spectral smoke offers protection in the visual and IR ranges. The chemicals used are harmless for human beings and the environment.
