LEGIC® smart card technology optimizes the control and monitoring systems of Dr. Launée GmbH
LEGIC Identsystems Ltd, the leading manufacturer of contactless smart card systems for personal identification applications and Dr. Launée Mikroprozessortechnik GmbH are new license partners.
Launée GmbH is incorporating LEGIC smart card technology into the monitoring and operational control of commercial vehicles, for example at airports, on golf courses or in the building industry.
Vehicles of many different types are regularly driven away from highways or public roads, so for in storage areas and warehouses, in leisure facilities, on golf courses, in dockyards, at railway stations and at airports. The purposes for which these vehicles are used can be very varied. They transport and stack all kinds of goods, carry people, sweep floors, clear snow or help in construction work. In most cases, the purchase of such auxiliary and transport vehicles represents a major investment. Unfortunately however, incorrect use by unauthorized persons can result in major and extensive damage.
In order to prevent this, the ignition key is replaced by an electronic ignition lock that only enables the ignition when an authorized driver registers. In addition, it is also possible to directly acquire and later evaluate relevant data pertaining to the vehicle, for example the operating period, the working capacity, the mileage driven, shock stresses that the vehicle incurs etc. and / or data about the user such as that used for access authorization or for planning the driving schedule for the vehicle's occupants. These user evaluations also encourage authorized users to treat the equipment with care, thereby better ensuring that users better preserve the value of these expensive investments on a long-term basis.
Dr. Launée GmbH Mikroprozessortechnik in Gauting near Munich supplies the corresponding monitoring, planning and maintenance systems specially for use in small vehicles and commercial vehicles. The company has for years specialized in the contract development of units and modules with micro-controllers in the fields of mechanical engineering, measuring and control technology, and as a LEGIC license partner now develops special solutions based on contactless all-in-one-card technology.
