New no bite PowerFence monitoring device safeguards public and staff from accidental shock
It can be a challenge for organisations to ensure their premises are protected from theft and vandalism as well as protect the public and visitors from accidental shock from their perimeter fence security system.
Gallagher Security Management Systems has developed a user-friendly solution which enables sites to maintain the detection capability of the PowerFence perimeter security system without an active deterrent pulse during the day or at times of low risk.
The Fence Integrity Monitor is a single channel alarm detector that can operate on a PowerFence with or without an active, high voltage, electric pulse.
The Fence Integrity Monitor is a practical option for sites, such as rental or storage companies, which may want to monitor their perimeters 24/7 for any contact with the fence, without exposing customers and staff to the possibility of a high voltage pulse, says Steve Buckley, General Manager, Gallagher Security Management Systems Europe Ltd.
The Fence Integrity Monitor provides cut wire detection and short circuit detection without the need to change the fence configuration from the standard configuration. It provides a local, onsite, warning signal that can be connected to remote telemetry.
The Fence Integrity Monitor can be installed as a stand-alone alarm detector or used in conjunction with a PowerFence controller. A single Fence Integrity Monitor monitors a maximum of one fence zone.
When used without a PowerFence Trophy Controller, the Fence Integrity Monitor detects when its associated fence zone is damaged or attacked. It provides detection without the active deterrent feature.
When used in conjunction with a PowerFence Trophy Controller, the Fence Integrity Monitor provides a second, separate fence-monitoring source. Sites can have up to three Fence Integrity Monitors associated with a single controller.
The Fence Integrity Monitor detects damage to the pulse wire independently to the PowerFence pulse, even when the fence is turned off, for added security and peace of mind.
