FAST "Rocks"
TERSEC supplies an advanced FAST Video Security AG digital video observation platform based on alpha technology® for the Rock Werchter (30/06-03/07) & TW Classic festival (25/06) in Belgium.
At these events approximately 75000 people / day will attend the festival. There will be multiple dome cameras installed on-site where each camera will be connected to a FAST Video Security 1 Channel MPEG-2/MPEG-4 Encoder. The pictures are transmitted over a high-end wireless LAN transmission link and recorded on a centralized Digital Video Server (DVS) from FAST.
Two command centres using FAST remote Software Viewer-Pro-Kit will be controlling the domes as well as manage the complete system. The observation platform will be operated by police officers from local & federal police. A high-end wireless LAN link supplied by our partner will be used to link the 2 command centres wich are located over a distance of more than 4 km. The TERSEC trunked radio custom development will be used to automatically send a message to a digital trunked radio network in case an incident is detected.
All images will be recorded in MPEG-2 DVD-quality @ 25fps/camera. For transmission of the images the 1-channel Encoder from FAST high-end encoders/codecs have the ability to simultaneously transmit MPEG-2 & MPEG-4 Video- and Audio streams.
MPEG-4 which can be used for transmission in case of lower bandwidth availability. This allows the system to adapt automatically to different conditions. Because of the bidirectional video & audio functionalities available on the 1-channel codecs public address & video-information messages can be sent to the remote locations. The Digital Video Servers DVS can stores up to 32TB of images. PTZ control priority will be given to the primary command center so that an efficient co-operation by the 2 command centres becomes possible.
In the command centers a multi-screen setup will be available with LCD-TFT & plasma monitors. A virtual matrix which is integrated in the FAST-setup will be available. TERSEC will provide an appropriate training for the police officers who operate the system. Since many years TERSEC has been developing systems for law enforcement operations & provides digital observation systems training for police officers at the O.P.A.C. police academy in Belgium.
