Telespazio is the Finmeccanica company leader in satellite services for business and institutions worldwide. With its network of space centres connected with fiber, more than 170 operating antennas and 40 satellite mobile units, Telespazio represents the first satellite operator able to offer a really complete range of satellite solutions: fixed and mobile telecommunications, radio and television services, broadband multimedia, Earth observation data and applications, satellite orbit control, navigation and R&D.

Working with the main satellite operators and integrating technologies and skills, Telespazio is able to provide networks and fixed and mobile telecommunication services worldwide. Telespazio realizes multimedia applications like telemedicine, distance learning, Web-Tv and interactive videocommunications.

Through the European and American digital platforms and the about 40 equipped mobile units, Telespazio provides to national and foreign broadcaster, networks and broadcast services for the diffusion, distribution and transport via satellite of the radio-television signal. The offer includes the Business TV and other innovative solutions.

Within Earth Observation, Telespazio has a complete range of solutions: from acquiring and processing satellite data, to the distribution of applications and services for the study and control of the territory, prevention and management of enviromental risks (fires, floods, landslides, etc.) cartography, agriculture and geomarketing.

Furthermore, Telespazio works in the main phases of a space mission: definition, development and integration of the ground segment, launch assistance and satellite orbit positioning (LEOP). Besides it provides telemetry services and operative management of satellites (TT&C) and of the ground facilities.

It is also involved in the main European space programme: Galileo, the European global system for navigation, localization and timing services, and Cosmo-SkyMed, the first dual-use satellite constellation for high resolution remote sensing with a high revisit time in any visibility condition.

Recently Finmeccanica and Alcatel created a joint venture company with Telespazio and Alcatel Space Services and Operations. It will concentrate on operations and services for satellite solutions and it will consolidate the role of Telespazio as key player in the space services global market.
