Organized in 1964, L-3 Communications / Electrodynamics (L-3/EDI) designs, manufactures and markets high quality electronic and electromechanical systems and components for the military and aerospace markets. Operations are conducted in a company-owned 50,000 square foot building in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. The company has grown from a research center to a fully autonomous Engineering and Manufacturing operation.

Also part of L-3/EDI is Targa Systems Division L-3 Communications Canada Inc. a world leader in providing Solid State Data Storage Solutions for Military and Aerospace Applications. Targa has the right PC Card Data Transfer Systems, High Reliability Flash Disks, 6U VME SCSI Flash Modules and other products for your program.

Engineering design disciplines include System Integration, Analog and Digital Circuits, Electromagnetics and Electromechanics, Equipment Packaging and Software. L-3/EDI's Engineering Department is fully staffed to satisfy requirements for Reliability, Maintainability, Integrated Logistics Support, Configuration Management, Data Management and Environmental Testing.

The Operations and Quality Assurance Departments have the capability required to purchase and inspect incoming material and parts, plan and control production flow, and assemble and test finished products. Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Engineering personnel provide support directly to the production floor. L-3/EDI's Quality System is ISO 9000/AS9100 certified by Perry Johnson Registrars, Inc. L-3/EDI has also initiated a Lean Six Sigma program to reinforce their commitment to the philosophy of Continuous Improvement throughout its organization.

Customers include tactical aircraft and missile manufacturers as well as avionics subsystems, communications equipment, and aircraft engine manufacturers that depend on their robust designs and superior quality.
