DPSS is a manufacturing company formed in September 1999, to enhance a proven technology, which needed money, a management infrastructure and direction.

The original concept was to develop applications using an aerosol canister containing Pepper Spray (Oleoresin Capsicum (OC)). A product used by the SAPS, DCS and security companies in South Africa, and the FBI, Police Force and many others in the USA, as a security deterrent. Pepper spray in a canister is a very effective self-defense and incapacitant product.

With the rise in violent crime and no effective solution in sight to combat this scourge it has been proven that these systems have reduced the incidents of severe losses due to burglaries by up to 98%.
