Richard Albon
Located in the Dartmoor National Park in South West England, wildlife artist Richard Albon features original paintings and prints in water colour and acrylic. All images are available in print or in greeting card form, in limited and open edition form.
The prints use materials of the highest standard as required by the Fine Art Trade Guild. For more information on print quality view Dayfold PLC. Giclee printed images are done through Dace Digital at http://www.giclee-art.co.uk/. Dace also offers a gallery for my work in the north of England.
For viewing work at a Gallery in the south visit Haddon Galleries (http://www.haddongalleries.com).
After twenty years in the semiconductor industry designing memory circuits, Richard Albon has refocused on designing spectacular images from nature. The views afforded by his attic studio in the Dartmoor National Park help to inspire the type of work that is becoming very popular with the public and people within the Fine Art World.
Richard paints using a range of techniques in a style described as realism. The images are created on illustration board using watercolour or acrylic media, applied with an airbrush. To achieve work of such a high standard much time is needed for preparation work which involves field studies, photography and sketching, to build a mental and physical representation of how the finished piece should look.
A detailed pencil drawing is often done prior to translating the image on to illustration board. Once the translation is complete, the structure of the image is built up normally from a sepia underpainting, to create form and shadow.
The airbrush is used extensively, allowing fine control over the creation of many aspects on picture construction. It saves time although there are many ways of achieving the same result.
