SMart Airlock Control System (SMACS):
The SMACS is a video-based surveillance system which detects and singularises persons (one person detection) and objects in airlocks. The system consists of a CCTV video camera combined with a high-performance image-processing unit. With the SMACS, the problem of tailgating is a problem of the past. The SMACS also allows material to be loaded into the airlock by transport personnel without clearance and, after a successful check that no persons are present, the personnel of the security area can transport the material into the secured area.
