DYNASAFE is contracted to build the new facility for destruction of old chemical munitions in Munster, Germany
by Dynasafe AB

In September 2003 DYNASAFE has been awarded with the contract to build the new facility fort destruction of old chemical munitions at GEKA*, Munster, Germany.

The key-component of the plant will be a Static Kiln SK 2000. Together with the Static Kiln a tailor-made off-gas treatment plant will clean all process gases resulting from the destruction of these old munitions, containing quite a variety of different chemical warfare agents.

Already in December 2003 DYNASAFE was able to complete all required documents for authority approval granting.

With this new facility Germany will solve a major part the problems related with the destruction of old chemical munitions, mainly from World War I.

* GEKA (Gesellschaft des Bundes zur Entsorgung chemischer Kampfstoffe und Rüstungs-Altlasten mbH) in Munster is the central facility for the disposal of chemical warfare agents and material contaminated with such agents in Germany.

Austrian Airports equipped with DYNASAFE MECC

All 6 international Austrian airports have been equipped with the DYNASAFE MECC (Mobile Explosion Containment Chamber). The MECC is a total containment chamber able to withstand a significant amount of explosives while remaining gastight after a possible detonation inside. The MECC is placed directly after the third level security scanning to enable the operator to contain suspicious items immediately after detected. The DYNASAFE MECC can be integrated in the existing baggage handling system or alternatively being operated with an attached remote control panel. The MECC is big enough to cope with complete suitcases.
