Bomb Proof Trash Cans: Solution or Threat?
by Letters

Trash cans are being sold throughout the United States as bomb proof despite the fact they cannot pass explosive tests replicating a real life deployment.

In addition, the amounts of explosives these “bomb proof” trash cans are supposed to withstand during an explosion are publicized online along with many of the locations they are supposed to be providing an edge over the terrorists.

Given the above facts, do you feel the ten plus million dollars already spent on these trash cans that are not bomb proof was justified?  Do you feel public safety has been increased or decreased as a result of the deployment of trash cans that were misrepresented as bomb proof and whose explosive protective ratings are exploited by the same vendor who profited by their deployment?

If you value public safety and do not appreciate taxpayer’s dollars being wasted on products that only decrease public safety, contact your elected officials and state attorney generals’ office demanding an explanation.
