Time & Attendance Solutions for Food Manufacturers Retail and Manpower Suppliers
by Synel Industries
Time is money. We all know that labour costs keep growing, and in today's competitive market those who have better control win.
Synel Industries are world leaders in designing and manufacturing monitoring solutions for Access Control and Time Recording.
Data can be electronically transferred to payroll, spreadsheets and other management applications. European Working Time Directives (48 hours average working week), flexitime, annualised hours and all the relevant data is collected, processed and stored for future reference.
To enhance the security for staff and company assets you can control the access to the site and to sensitive areas within the site. This can be a module within the Time & Attendance system, or an independent system, using the same ID cards or the latest cutting edge technology of Fingerprint.
Terminals in an IP65 format are available using external proximity, barcode or magnetic readers.
We can offer wireless terminals or connect terminals to the network using TCP/IP connectivity, thus virtually eliminating the need to add cabling to the existing infrastructure.
Synel has developed a new Wireless Solution based on Bluetooth. This enables communication between the terminal and the PC without the need of infrastructure.
Bluetooth technology is well established throughout the world, and is being used in a wide variety of applications. Bluetooth refers to a short-range radio technology aimed at simplifying communications among Net devices and between devices and the Internet. It also aims to simplify data synchronization between Net devices and other computers.
Synel entered this field as part of a constant strive for updating and upgrading of existing solutions, as well as developing new ones.
The SY-780 Fingerprint Terminal The SY-780 data collection terminal IS Synels cutting edge technology using Fingerprint. Biometrics technology IS an irrefutable verification or identification of a person by various physiological characteristics, which cannot be transferred or copied.
The Fingerprint is scanned at a very low resolution and then translated to an algorithm or to be stored. Every time a Fingerprint is presented to the sensor, it will be compared to the appropriate algorithm in the database.
You can use Fingerprint alone or in accordance with Proximity, Magnetic, Barcode cards or just a PIN.

Internet Intranet Browser - No hardware required
The Browser is using the latest internet technology to communicate with the database of the Time & Attendance, to view and print reports in real time, and to report on attendance absence and job costing directly into the database.
The Browser is installed on the company's Server, together with the Time & Attendance database.
The user can log in through the internet browser on his PC. He can then perform what his authorisation level allows him to do; clock IN & OUT, report on projects during the day. The user can also view (and print) attendance reports, absence, projects, exceptions and balance. User defined as Manager or Supervisor can also perform the following for his employees: view data, authorise overtime, authorise the pay period report.
The data is easily accessed, quickly processed and displayed. This system also provides on-line attendance reports.

"Timekeeper offers a structured approach to the recording of Time & Attendance, which gives us the information we need to manage the business effectively. All the employees are using the fingerprint (Biometric) terminals happily."

We have been using Timekeeper for almost five years now. Until last year however we had been using Timekeeper solely to keep track of staff absences and timekeeping. Due to a downturn in the industry last year we had to restructure the administration and accounting function. Using our existing systems and utilising their functionality further we were able to reduce the administrative resource required to administer the payroll function.
After working closely with Synel we now use Timekeeper to its full capabilities and export the data weekly to send to the Finance Service Centre at Rolls-Royce who the process our payroll for us. We were astonished to see the functionality of Timekeeper and the way it could be adapted to our requirements. We now have plans to roll it out to our other two sites before the end of the year
Diversity Foods Ltd
Diversity Foods Ltd are innovations and manufacturers of speciality foods and has been using TlmeLOG Pro since 2000.
"The system covers Time & Attendance and security access control with 5 T&A terminals. As we have remote sites, some terminals are connected via modem link to Head Office. The automatic payroll link to our Sage accounting system enables us to transfer the payroll data directly.
Previously, 3 days were spent on manual calculations each month, but now the whole process takes only 4 hours."
"We have found Synel's systems and services very reliable, cost effective and user friendly

Monument Tools Jonathan Collier
We have been using Synel Timekeeper 2000 for more than 2 years. We were looking for a system for both Time and Attendance and Job Costings - the Timekeeper 2000 is perfect in both respects.
We are amazed at the amount of time and money we now save using the system. The Time and Attendance side tracks holidays, hours worked, payroll etc - whilst with the Job Costing side of the software we can now track employee performance and we also know how much labour Work-in-Progress we have - great news for our monthly accounts.
We also use the SY-780 biometric terminals with a barcode reader, reading over 550 different labour operations. The biometric terminals are excellent, as no one yet, has forgotten to bring their finger to work! We estimate that we have reduced our old workload from one person working full time on our T&A and Job Costings down to about 1/2 hour per day.
Without doubt the system has paid for itself over and over already.
