Maritime Security Consultants The International Maritime Organisation (I.M.O) has decided after discussion at their Maritime Security Council (MSC) meeting in December 2002 that all Member States will adopt new security measures to safeguard ships, ports and maritime navigation from unlawful acts. These measures include the MANDATORY training of Port Facility Security Officers, the requirements of which are set out in Chapter XI-2 of the annex to the Safety Of Life At Sea (SOLAS), 1974 as amended and in Part A of the International Ship & Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code. Guidance regarding the recommended requirements is contained in Part B of ISPS Code. To meet this requirement J.P. Internation Maritime Security Division has developed a Port Facility Security Officers (P.F.S.O.) course in fifteen modules, which address ALL of the subject, listed in ISPS Code Part B Section 18.1.1. 18.1.20., and the I.M.O. Model Course 3.21 (2003 Edition) delivered over a five working day programme. In addition to the above we also offer training programmes for Port Facility Security Guards and Port Facility Security Supervisors all based on the International Maritime Model Course Programme.
