SECURATEC GmbH set its goal to train and work with special dog teams, to help policemen, soldiers, security guards and humanitarian organizations to save and rescue people for the results of crime or war and, of course, we send own teams to all places, wherever theyre needed.
10 years ago a special company was founded, which is specialized on working and training with special dogs for different purposes. Our knowledge is based on the experience in dog training for last 20 years. At this moment we have 150 of our own dogs with our Dog Handlers active on duty in many different places, e.g. German army, mine clearance in Bosnia and special events.
Securatec dogs are working in a lot of countries as Bomb Detection Dogs, Mine Detection Dogs and Patrol dogs in dual system, that means that a dog is able to work in Detection and as a patrol dog.
SECURATEC GmbH is specialized in training dogs and their handlers to build up dog teams in other countries or for private companies.

Then we train the dog together with the new dog handler at the final destination.
Of course, we take care for the new dog teams. Time to time we will come back for refresher training course and we help to solve any problems that may have arisen. The aim is, that the new dog handlers are able to hold their level by themselves, all the time.
Obedience
Obedience is very important for successful dog work. It doesnt matter in which way youre working with your dogs. The dog handler must be able to control his dog in every situation and of course, the dog must follow him.
We train the dogs in obedience without pressure. We use the special drives of the dog like playing drive. In this way, we get best results, because the dog learns to solve problems on its own.
During a training period, the dog is trained on a leash because if a dog is under pressure it always tries to get away. But after a completion of a training period the dog can work under pressure without a leash.
You dont need an explosive detection dog, which looks like its sniffing, but in reality its not detecting. Or it goes away from explosive devices because it knows; it has to sit against its will.
You dont need a patrol dog, which does not stops bite-work on the handlers command in real situations.
Good obedience is the basic for all training, and that the dog-handler is able to trust his dog in every situation.

A few years ago we started to work with mine detection dogs. At first we look for the right dogs for this job and then we start training in Germany. 4 months later, the dogs where able to find different mines in different areas and we send the dogs to Bosnia Herzegovina .The next step is to start training with the new dog-handlers from the HVO (Army). These soldiers have never worked with dogs before.
After only 2 months we passed the test by the MINE ACTION CENTRE and start working. During the Demeaning period we cleared 40 ha with our dog teams successfully. The dogs found a lot of tank-mines, Anti-personnel-mines and UXO.

Every day we had short training periods in the morning and in the afternoon, to correct any little mistakes.
During the job we had to change 2 dog-handlers, but this all worked out without any problems, the new teams passed their test successfully, so that work could go on without any break. The dogs learned to work on their own, so we had no problems with different behaviour of new handlers.
After a year the dogs came into property of a humanitarian organization with also new inexperienced handlers. We chose the handlers and gave them, depending on their different characters, the right dog, which they are able to work with. The teams are passing their tests every six-months and they are still working right now.
We are still in charge to control daily work, training and keep them running.
We also get dogs from other companies, which are not able to find mines or work in the right way; this is because of lack of training.
After a few weeks we sent them back to their own companies and the dogs passed the tests.
Explosive Detection Dog (EDD)
The United Nation Border Police asked us to send EDD´s to the border Bosnia-Croatia. Our teams checked trucks, busses, cars and a lot of luggage. The dogs put their noses everywhere, climbed into cars, busses or on trucks some car drivers were very surprised, because the dogs found explosive devices, weapons and ammunition in their cars.
After we worked for a few days, everybody knew that EDDs are working at the border, so a lot drivers, who had to cross the border, gave their weapons to the border police before crossing. So to round it all up, it was very successful and the job was well done.

We also checked parcels and envelopes in post-offices, whole buildings before business meetings and stadiums before big events. Even because the dogs are working in dual system we secure the area during the events. After a bomb threat we checked military areas, buildings, factories and ships.
