Aviation

Group 4 provides a range of services for the design, development and implementation of comprehensive security programs for airports and airlines, covering all aspects of passenger, baggage, cargo and airport perimeter security.

These services are delivered within the framework of the requirements defined by the DfT (Department of Transport) and in accordance to the procedures laid down by the National Aviation Security Programme. We currently provide full-scale bespoke security services to a number of international and national airports and carriers, in addition to governments and global blue chip organisations.

At Group 4 we are able to assist our customers in the development of airport security systems, personnel systems, training programs and emergency procedures. Group 4 can design and implement a wide range of drills and exercises to ensure the constant alertness of security staff and strict compliance with all regulator, local government, and customer objectives.

Our quality ethos and processes ensure that client expectations are met and exceeded, and that all services are delivered in a professional and capable manner that conforms to all local and international legislation as befitting a global market leader.

Maritime

The UK economy depends upon international trade. Our competitiveness relies upon quick, easy, economical, and safe movement of people and goods. Ports serve the national interest, supporting the competitiveness of national and regional economies. As such, ports are vulnerable to criminal activities and acts of terrorism.

Group 4 addresses the needs of this high-risk sector by providing a specialist, comprehensive security service. Group 4 offers complete protection to ports, ships, and their users, using security systems, which are developed in close co-operation with all the relevant authorities such as the Port Authorities, Police, Customs, local Fire brigades, and the medical services.

With the rise in international concern over maritime security, we at Group 4 feel that a pro-active approach will best serve our customers for the future by actively seeking to minimise the PortÂ’s vulnerabilities. Our maritime security services are focused on taking effective measures to protect ships and harbour areas against acts of violence by terrorists or criminals and to help ensure the safety of port customers and staff.

Operating at a number of seaports worldwide Group 4 offers a range of security, safety, port control and passenger operations tailored to our customers' needs and delivered within the framework of requirements defined by the AMSA regulations.

Our duties include:

  • Dock gate security including mobile and foot patrols
  • Ships' security, including cruise liners
  • Passenger and baggage screening and search
  • Control of access and egress to the Restricted Zone
  • CCTV control rooms
  • Risk analysis
  • Cargo inspections aimed at identifying weapons, drugs, explosives and other matters of a threatening nature
  • Statutory legal checks/searches of vehicles and personnel under Statutory legislation

Fire services

We offer a full range of fire services to a number of our customers; either as part of an integrated services contract or as a stand-alone service. The portfolio is broad in scope and comprises two main elements, training & consulting and services.

Training & Consulting -

We can provide high value fire awareness and safety training to customer employees using our own highly trained and experienced fire officers. Typical training would include correct use of extinguishers, best practise for fire prevention, fire safety and familiarisation with fire fighting equipment.

From a consulting perspective we are able to provide high value advice on how to best incorporate fire services into an existing security contract.

Services -

The range of fire services that we offer covers the full range of customer requirements from fire wardens and fire marshals to first response fire fighting teams. Fire wardens and marshals are able to provide fire prevention patrols and implement action in the event of a fire as well as performing other service duties. First response fire fighters provide a full fire fighting service as well as first aid; our first response teams currently provide service across a number of contracts including the chemical and automotive industries and air traffic control centres.

As a group of companies we have a wealth of experience and knowledge in fire services. We provide full fire services in much of Denmark on behalf of the local government; we also provide fire services to a number of other high-risk sites including the petrochemical industry, airports and nuclear power plants.

Manned guarding

Group 4 Total Security has long been the market leader for UK guarding services. Our client base covers major manufacturing companies, leading financial service organisations as well as IT and telecom service companies and government agencies.

Our ethos of Total Quality Management combined with our service delivery models ensures that client expectations are consistently met and exceeded.

Highly trained personnel, able to deal with the most complex security issues, deliver this flexible, totally integrated service. It enables our customers to focus fully on running their core business while we take care of security and much more besides.

The services that we offer extend far beyond traditional guarding services. Our added value service model includes such services as reception duties, document management, car parking, pass issue, CCTV monitoring and trained first aiders.

Our guarding services can be integrated with other elements of our service portfolio to produce a true, single source security solution that fits client requirements from single site to a range of sites across the whole country and beyond. At Group 4 we believe that security does not come in boxes but from the intelligent integration of products and services into a single service bundle.

Community safety officers

Against a backdrop of incoming legislation Group 4 Total security has added to our portfolio Community Safety Services. The focus of such services is to provide safety patrolling within Local Authority areas to deter against vandalism and crime.

With over 50 years experience of providing high quality and high value services, we are best placed to work in partnership with all the relevant groups; both authorities and community to provide well managed, designed and delivered services aimed at making our communities safer.

Safety Patrols

Community safety patrols have two purposes, to act as a deterrent against crime and acts of vandalism such as graffiti and as a mechanism for reassurance. A visible and approachable presence in the form of Community Safety Officers has been proven to reassure residents and provide a useful point of contact or assistance.

Support for Vulnerable persons

Our safety patrols are also able to make visits to vulnerable persons in an area, either previous victims of crime or the elderly or infirm to reassure and increase a sense of belonging in a community. Such co-ordinated regular support to vulnerable tenants helps provide both comfort and reassurance.

Support Networks

We aid the development of a complete communications loop to promote the exchange of information amongst all agencies and Resident groups, liasing with the Police, Neighbourhood Office personnel and relevant local authorities.

Environmental protection

We both identify and react to potential environmental hazards, liasing with the appropriate responsible departments to ensure a speedy resolution. Our operational procedure of directed preventative patrols and reactive re-sourcing result in safer, cleaner environments

Personnel

Our recruitment is directed at suitable candidates from the local job markets; we believe local knowledge is a vital aspect of providing community focused services and building relationships within those communities. All our personnel are subject to a stringent selection process and vetting to ensure that only suitable persons are considered.

Training

All Group 4 personnel undergo training that is more than twice the industry standard for security personnel. Community Safety Officers then undergo a further week of training focused on the job and service skills that they will need. This additional training considers such elements as managing aggression, managing diversity, alcohol and drugs awareness, aspects of law, customer service and personnel safety.
