We cost-effectively integrate our customers' corporate identity into our product platforms, using our in-house industrial designers. This results in distinctive end products, be it the integration of 19" components, uninterruptible power supplies/isolating transformers, EMC, ESD-capabilities or cable management.

We design a product for you, which completely meet your individual requirements. We will accompany you through the entire process, from project planning to product design, from prototype design to series production.

The basis for this is provided in the form-oriented and function-oriented compatibility within product ranges and among individual product families. Various products such as display workstations and command workstations can easily be supplemented and harmoniously combined with other products, e.g. LAN racks or mobile equipment racks.

Thanks to tested and certified product platforms, customer-specific solutions can be provided very quickly and economically. This is our answer to the requirement of a "short time-to-market".

Business Unit Rack + Bus Systems is the biggest division within the Knürr Group. In this division, our long-standing know-how and product expertise focuses on the development of standardised designs for the electronics sector. The results: 19" racks and cabinets, 19" enclosures and 19" chassis and subracks, desktop enclosures and state-of-the-art VME-bus and compactPCI systems which provide the basis for the integration of valuable electronic equipment.

Outdoors:
From aerial inserts to the main switching centre or operation maintenance centre, the Tecoras product range covers the entire spectrum of telecommunications, traffic management and control, and environmental technology. The Tecoras outdoor product platform provides you with all the features, which are necessary for professional network operation, including certified safety. Our enclosure systems have been developed and tested according to international standards current at the time. The systems can be individually configured, with the same type of modules being available in various depths and heights. They can be arranged to form multiple combinations. Our air conditioning concepts take full account of customer requirements: we provide a wide range of cooling units, heat exchangers and heating units for selection to suit any climatic region on the globe.

Mobility without risk:
In close cooperation, over many years, with the telecommunications and defence industries as well as directly with the procurement departments of the armed forces of Switzerland, Knürr AG was able to develop a high degree of expertise in responding to the requirements of both indoor and outdoor applications. The INCAS housing is one product arising from this. The bent profile frame of the housing provides it with extreme stability despite its low weight.

Built-in equipment is optimally protected against shock and vibration by a respective arrangement of vibration dampers on the accommodating frame. Thanks to their stackability, INCAS provide an extremely space-saving solution for transport and storage. Recessed handles and closing mechanisms largely prevent damage that could impede their proper function. INCAS are made from aluminium sheet (AlMg 3); they have to pass the following tests:

Waterproof test: IP 65 according to DIN 40050/IEC 529;
Temperature test: MIL-STD-810 C method 501.1 (high), method 502.1 (low), method 503.1 (cycling);
Humidity test according to MIL-STD-810 C method 507.1;
Salt spray according to MIL-STD-810 C method 509.1;
Vibration test according to MIL-STD-810 E method 514.4-1,
Shock test according to MIL-STD-810 E
Free fall according to MIL-STD-810 C method 516.2 procedure II;
Endurance shock (15g/6ms 4000 impact cycles); and
EMC test according to VG95373 part 15.

Nowhere is effective protection from dust, water, climatic influences and shock more important than during the transport of sensitive products such as data media, mobile computers, measuring instruments, and telephone and radio equipment. Even when submerged in water up to 1 m deep, everything stays dry inside. Yet, the new waterproof welded cases (WDS) or Incas not only protect your 19" equipment against water, humidity and steam, but also against aggressive media such as oil, acid or salt water.

Transport remains convenient because the empty weight is very light. Exposure to severe shock? No problem, thanks to the prominent shock-absorbing rubber corners, your valuable goods being transported will not be damaged. The strong aluminium casing in conjunction with a special pair of profiles between the enclosure and the cover ensures outstanding safety and security.

Workplaces:
These days there is hardly any work area, which can do without the use of the latest in information technology. Only modular workstation systems are able to fully adapt to these requirements, both now and in the future. Central importance is accorded to the integration of displays, computers and peripherals to form a dynamic spatial concept, which enhances the motivation of the employees and supports the efficiency of workgroups. Flexible systems solutions from Knürr meet these requirements as a result of expert consultation and professional concepts.

Certified workplace experts take into account ergonomic aspects as well as lighting, colour, compliance safety provisions along with national and international standards. From project planning to CAD-based preparation of room layouts, prototypes, production and logistics, installation on site, and after-sales service, we create solutions for technical furniture. Knürr solutions can be found in the fields of information technology, telecommunications, network technology, process control technology, traffic management and control technology, electronics laboratories and safety technology as well as in production.

Mobile equipment chassis and subracks:
Mobile workstations are mobile workplaces, which provide a great deal of flexibility in a variety of applications. Our mobile assistants are in use wherever technical equipment requires specific flexibility in application, e.g. in the workshop, in the automotive industry, electronics manufacture, optoelectronics or medical engineering. At Knürr, we set ourselves apart in that for every mobile application we design individual mobile workstations, which meet your special situation, ergonomically, technically and visually. The know-how of the Knürr group ensures that the large spectrum of the product range flows into this form of a compact workplace.

Apart from the tailor-made mobile unit, two standard product lines, Dacomobile and Metramobile, are available. Because of its large accessory range, the Dacomobile range is predominantly used in medical engineering. However, it is also very well represented in the area of metronomy and control technology, because of the ease of integrating 19" components with it. Metramobile is the all-rounder which has created a name for itself as a very stable and compact mobile unit under the most severe conditons, ranging from all medical applications right through to industrial ones.

Electromechanical data security has been accorded very high importance over the years. At issue is the safeguarding, under practical applications, of investments in server and network technologies by means of intelligent monitoring measures. Modular uninterruptible power supply units (UPSs), whose output can be configured, supplemented by battery buffering and control units, as well as customer-specific distribution systems ensure that the respective system requirements are optimally met. AC distribution can be adapted to country-specific outlets according to international standards.

From UPS to switching (KVM), to rack monitoring systems (RMS) right to the mechanical strength of racks, including racks for earthquake-prone regions, we provide the right solution. In the quest to ensure the availability of high-tech equipment, thermal management, i.e. cooling and heating that is appropriate in each particular application, is assuming ever increasing importance. Competent advice and innovative technology in the products used in the cooling of racks and cabinets ensure the best possible safety of the installed electronic components against failure due to heat, or against premature wear due to excessive operating temperatures.

And finally, to take account of human failings, we provide a large range of mechanical and/or electronic locking systems. Their combination with other products from the wide range provided by Knürr makes it possible for customers to very effectively and efficiently source total solutions from one supplier.

Installation and wiring of air conditioning components, power distribution and supply, as well as customer equipment (including functional checks) form part of our spectrum of services. Knürr is happy to assume the responsibility of keeping your equipment optimally functional over the years. This includes service, repair and maintenance agreements. With international agencies worldwide, we are strategically very well position to support you.

External testing methods and certifications ensure compliance with national and international standards.
