NCSC Sets Its Annual Conference for Las Vegas, NV June 12-15
ANNAPOLIS, MD--February 3, 2004--The National Cargo Security Council will stage its 2004 Annual Conference on June 12-15 at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev.
NCSC Chairman David Jones, CPP, VP-Corporate Loss Prevention and Security for Tommy Hilfiger U.S.A., Inc., says the 2004 conference will be the most significant in the associations 36-year history.
Cargo-security experts from shippers, carriers and logistics firms will be joined by authorities from units of the Department of Homeland Security with presentations on the newest technology and procedures in combating cargo theft and terrorists threats, he said.
This will be the most international conference ever because of the post-9/11 need to protect our borders and to assure the safe and secure movement of global trade, Jones added.
NCSC estimates that cargo crime is a $15-billion hit on the U.S. economy and a $50-billion loss globally.
The conference will include 60-plus exhibits of companies that produce products, programs and technology to thwart cargo crime and terrorism.
