Fingerprint Cards and Comex Electronics AB extend licence agreement to new markets and products

Fingerprint Cards customer Comex Electronics AB, Stockholm, has widened its original licence to include new markets and products. While the companies original agreement concerned only Comex products with high-level security certification for delivery to the Swedish Department of Defence (FMV) the newly signed, non-exclusive licence agreement now includes defence authorities in other countries. The agreement also includes a non-military version of the integrated biometric system tested and certified for the Swedish authorities.

Fingerprint Cards and Motorola Semiconductor sign Collaboration agreement

Fingerprint Cards AB and Motorola, Inc´s Semiconductor Products Sector (SPCS) have signed an agreement to collaborate on marketing Fingerprint Cards´ biometric technology on a Motorola processor platform. Fingerprint Cards has ported its patented DAD (Distinct Area Detection) algorithm for matching of finger patterns to Motorolas Dragon Ball MX1 microprocessor. This processor, which is found in more than 75% of all the worlds personal digital assistants (PDA's), is targeted for 2.5G and 3G mobile products, smart phones and advanced information appliances. The solution will be demonstrated by Motorola Semiconductor in Cannes at the 3GSM telecom exhibition in February 18-21.

Fingerprint Cards first complete swipe development kit for fingerprint verification; FPC6430

Fingerprint Cards presents a capacitive swipe sensor (FPC1030) that, unlike alternative small square sensors, can scan the entire fingerprint pattern. With measurements of only 3 mm x 11 mm this is the smallest and lowest cost fingerprint sensor. It also meets the requirements for 15 kV repeated air discharges (ESD). Manufacturers can integrate swipe sensor FPC1030 or complete fingerprint verification system into high-volume devices such as PC peripherals, portable PCs and mobile phones a development kit, FPC6430, is available now.
